This Spring and Summer, we as a center had the opportunity to engage our children and families in a variety of enriching, hands‑on activities. From outdoor learning experiences to creative classroom projects, each activity supported exploration, social development, and early learning skills. Outdoor Learning Days — Nature walks, sensory play, and fresh‑air exploration that encouraged curiosity and movement.

Water Play & Splash Activities — Safe, supervised water fun that helped children cool off while practicing cooperative play.

Creative Arts & Crafts — Spring‑themed painting, summer collages, puzzles and hands‑on projects that supported fine‑motor development.

Garden & Planting Projects — Children planted flowers and herbs, learning responsibility and early science concepts. The Center received a garden grant from Columbus Foundation.

Community Engagement Events — Including “Keeping It Poppin with Perkins,” where families connected with resources and enjoyed popsicles, and ice cream. Thanks to Boy Genius for coming out and reading to the preschool classroom.

Movement & Wellness Activities — Yoga, and outdoor gross‑motor play that promoted health and coordination.

School‑Age Summer Fun — Field trips, group challenges, and themed days designed to keep older children active and engaged. Thanks to Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland, for coming and doing activities with our girls.

The APPS Job Readiness Program (AJRP) - Thank you for sending out great youth workers this summer for assisting and interacting with the children at the center.
