Perkin's Playhouse & Learning Center INC. (PPLC) is always seeking new employees who are energetic, trustworthy, reliable, creative, and responsible.  These individuals will be considered to be primary caregivers and role models for our infants, toddler, preschool and school age children.  

General Qualifications:   Must be 18 years or older; have a high school diploma or GED; successfully complete background checks (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and Federal Bureau of Investigation); Will be required to have a current immunizations.  Priority will be given to individuals with a degree or seeking a degree in early childhood education.

Overview

Are you passionate about nurturing young minds and building some of the first positive relationships a child will have in the world?  Come join Perkins’ Playhouse & Learning Center INC., we have been providing quality childcare for over 30 years!  Also, we are a Gold Rated Center through Step Up to Quality looking for a dedicated infant teacher to join our team!  As a Lead Infant Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in the foundational development of our youngest learners.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.

  • Maintain frequent communication with parents through daily informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.

  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment—including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.

  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.

  • Take on ownership of the classroom but also provide a warm and nurturing environment.

  • Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous improvement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Preference given to candidates with a CDA in Infant/Toddler or an associate in early childhood education or related field. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED, one-year professional childcare experience and a strong understanding of child development.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, some computer skills, willingness to work as and lead a team.

  • Walk up and down stairs, stand and walk for an extended period of time throughout the day and be able to Lift 35-40 pounds.

  • Provide/ complete proof of education, a successful background check BCI & FBI, shot record prior to the first day of employment.
